The Teatro Principal is a theater hall located on Calle 29, San Prudencio Street, Vitoria. It was designed by Cesareo Iradier, inspired by the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. It was inaugurated in 1918 under the name of New Theatre Vitoria. The opening of the theater was made possible by the contributions of the citizens of Vitoria, with the purchase of shares. In 1961 happens to take its current name, in memory of the old theater building that existed in the same location between 1822 and 1914
